Troop History: Troop 33 was first chartered in 2007 under the leadership of Scoutmaster Dave Mott and a group of parents with the purpose of providing a quality scouting experience for their sons. The Woodbury Presbyterian Church kindly acts as our Charter Organization sponsoring and partnering with the Troop in their efforts of providing our Youth with a safe meeting place, adult representation and the best of what Scouting can offer. Our troop welcomes all boys interested in Scouting regardless of their religious affiliation.
Troop Objective:
The purpose of the Troop is the same as those established by the Boy Scouts of America- To build character and moral strength;to foster citizenship and; to develop physical, mental and emotional fitness.
Troop 33 was conceived to follow the Boy Scouts of America program:
Ideals: as stated in the Scout Oath, Law, Motto and Slogan.
The Patrol: method teaches and promotes team work, leadership and a sense of identity. Outdoors: activities are the hallmark of the Scouting experience.
Personal growth: activities are geared stretching the Scout reach. Advancements: a series of objectives, awards and recognitions that develops maturity and self-confidence.
Adult leadership: Scouts learn by example of their adult leaders. Leadership: provides Scouts with ample opportunity for leadership training and practice by being a boy run, adult supervised program. Uniforms: provide a sense of belonging and pride, and are a symbol to commitment to scouts ideals.
Scout Promise On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, To obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, And to keep myself physically strong, metally awake, and morally straight.
